One of the interesting things about Pasadena is the vast array of flowers and trees that are not typically found in other parts of Los Angeles.  I have no idea what this bush is called, but it has dark red blooms that are quite fuzzy when you get up close and the honeybees really love them.  It’s growing in a planter at the local Hastings Ranch Shopping Center, and when I took out my camera to take a few photos, I drew the attention of the center security team, riding around in a golf cart.  That’s the way it is here in Pasadena–security and police are always making sure people are not up to something untoward, although I can’t fathom what they thought I was doing other than taking photographs!  Anyway, the photo below shows the blooms from a slightly closer perspective.
