NEW YEAR’s EVE IN ASPEN, COLORADO 2009

I was in Aspen, Colorado for New Year’s Eve, December 31, 2009, and took this photo on a walk around the town.  My trip going there was interesting because instead of connecting to Aspen in Salt Lake City, they flew us to Grand Junction due to a smowstorm that was settling over Aspen, and then put us on a bus to the airport.  This is apparently not at all unusual, and it was actually a very nice way to see a bit of Colorado that I would not have otherwise seen.

It snowed off and on until the afternoon of the 31st and then cleared off spectacularly.  There were fireworks that evening above the slopes.  More snow the following day but I managed to get back to L.A. without any further delays.  For those of you who have asked about cameras and lenses, this photo was taken with my SONY CyberShot with the Zeiss lens.  It’s small and is about the only camera I ever use these days.
