A lot of people think that we don’t really have four seasons here in Southern California, but Pasadena definitely proves this theory wrong. This large maple tree is at the bottom of the street I drive down each morning to get to work, and when the nights turned cold a few weeks ago, the leaves started to turn. There are actually many trees in Pasadena which are not evergreen, and this year I am enjoying seeing all the vibrant colors. Last year there was so much wind in early December, most of the trees lost their leaves and looked bare before turning. It has taken a full year to get the plants and trees back on a normal cycle. Note the palm tree to the right rear!
