001We are lucky in California not to have cold winters.  By February, it’s easy to tell that spring is not far off.  This is what I saw on February 19 when I got to the bottom of my block in the car.  It’s a type of what my father always called ice plant, a ground cover that a lot of people plant instead of grass or other plants.  The flowers open in the sunlight and close in the shade as night approaches.  Ice plant comes in lots of color, but this purpose one is my favorite.

  1. I’m glad that it’s spring somewhere. 🙂

    • Yeah, even on our “bad” days it’s at least 65 degrees!
