CHIVE PIMIENTO CHEESE SPREAD

This recipe is similar to the Pimiento Cheese recipe I posted on August 1, 2013, but the mustard and Worcestershire sauce spice it up a little.  I made this for a dinner party recently and added some chopped, thinly shaved ham that I had in the refrigerator.  Let it sit for a day or two so the mustard and Worcestershire flavors come through.

CHIVE PIMIENTO CHEESE DIP

1 – 8 oz block cream cheese

1/2 cup sour cream

1 heaping tablespoon mayonnaise

1 – 4 oz jar diced pimiento, drained and rinsed

1/3 cup thinly sliced fresh chives

1 heaping tablespoon Dijon mustard

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1/2 teaspoon white pepper

1/4 teaspoon black ground pepper

12 oz grated sharp cheddar cheese

Mix together the cream cheese, sour cream and mayonnaise until smooth.  Stir in remaining ingredients and mix until combined.  Cover and refrigerate for at least a couple of hours.

Serve with toasted bread rounds, crackers and/or vegetables.
