New Wing of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Phillilpsburg Missouri

scan0338bIn the 1970’s, a new wing was added to the otherwise rectangular, box-like church which was built in 1871.  A kitchen and fellowship hall were added and this is the interior on a day when they were having a pot luck!  Look at all those dishes!  Among the ladies in the kitchen are relatives Reba McMenus Harrill, Stormye Harrill Barnett, Marilyn McMenus Hefton and Loreta McMenus Chandler.  In 2000, I visited Phillipsburg and the relatives got together and we had a pot luck in this very building!  The Cumberland Presbyterian Church is where my mother’s family went to church, her great grandmother, Sarah Selvidge McMenus, being one of the founding members in the 1870’s.
