P1010324aThere are many, many viewing points along the Dingle Peninsula, and at some of them there are various signs…Ryan’s Daughter filmed here, signs about geology and wildlife, they cover just about everything.  This is a sign that commemorates the filming of the l962 movie, PLAYBOY OF THE WESTERN WORLD, the play by John Millington Synge, which was quite controversial when it was first produced in 1907.  The play takes place largely in a pub in County Mayo, in the northwest of Ireland.  However, some filming took place on the Dingle Peninsula.  The photo below looked out beyond the sign.
