Los Angeles, California – 1935

001bFrom left, my mother’s brother, Harvey Preston “Press” Shank and wife Flossie Chambers Shank; Uncle Walter Tweddell in the back, then my mother, Anna Shank Marlin, my father, Ray Marlin, and my mother’s sister, Minnie Shank.  They were obviously visiting their Aunt Anna Tweddell and her husband, Walter, in what is now Highland park, California.  Press and Flossie were married in Missouri and divorced in California a few years later.  Minnie had not yet met her husband, Dan Greninger, when this photo was taken.  My mother was only 20 when this was taken, my father only 22-1/2.  Minnie on the right was also 22-1/2.  Don’t they look much older than that?

Photo below is the same group but Aunt Annie is sitting in the back row between Press and my father.
