Ardmore, County Waterford, Ireland

P1010420aArdmore is a little seside town and fishing village in County Waterford, population about 330 when it is not the tourist season.  It is believed to be the oldest Christian settlement in Ireland, St. Declan having been there in 350 AD, long before St. Patrick hit Irish shores.  On a hill above the town is a round tower and ruins of a cathedral (small by today’s standards) which date back to the 12th century and before.  It was another rainy day, but the following photos show the tower, cathedral ruins and the graveyard.
