DRUMHELLER RANCH, Walla Walla Washington 1914

There was some earlier interest in the photos of the Drumheller Ranch cook wagon and team, so I am posting two more photos.  As I explained before, my great aunt and her husband worked on the ranch in September, 1914 while the wheat harvest was going on.  She got this photo of the ranch in winter as well.  Below is another photo of a 6 mule team wagon and the description that Aunt Annie wrote on the back of the photo postcard.  She had very difficult writing to decipher, so I have translated below.

“Sept 5th ’14, the Barn Drumheller Ranch wheat haulers, this is the foreman Mr. Bert Vanhouten.  His nickname is Montana.  I think it is a kindo pretty scene looks prosperous.  They have been hauling with those 6 teams for 18 or 19 days.  Mother.”
