This photo was taken on Christmas Day, 1949 in California. These are my second cousins, Gary and Shirley Ferrier. Their father, Charles Ferrier, was my father’s first cousin, Charles’ father Lawrence being a brother of my grandmother, Dulcie Ferrier Marlin. They obviously got cowboy and cowgirl gear for Christmas along with a very fancy doll! And I wonder what kind of car that is they are leaning against?

What outfits are those? I had Hopalong Cassidy and he is usually the one with the black hat!

No idea. It was 1949, so it could have been Hopalong Cassidy or maybe Roy Rogers and Dale Evans? But I don’t think Roy Rogers wore a black hat, did he?

No, he did not. I bet it’s Hopalong!
