COLIEMORE HARBOR, Dalkey, County Dublin, Ireland

Coliemore Harbor, Dalkey, Dalkey Island, County Dublin, IrelandThis is another press photo from the 1960’s taken at Coliemore Harbor, Dalkey, County Dublin, Ireland.  The tide was in, and I think they must have purposely brought in people for the photo because I have never seen this little harbor so busy!

Dalkey Island is in the background of the photo, and that’s another Martello Tower on the right and the ruins of St. Begnet’s Church in the middle.  If you travel down the road going south from the harbor, it’s just a short walk to Sorrento Terrace, which overlooks Killiney Bay and Dalkey Island.  It is known as Millionaire’s Row in Ireland as the terrace is Ireland’s most expensive real estate.

    • It tends to be busier on the weekends these days or when it is a really clear, warm day. However, I suspect they put a lot of people in this photo for promotional purposes.
