KINGSTOWN (Dun Laoghaire) about 1900 – County Dublin, Ireland

013This is an early view of Kingstown Harbour, which since Ireland became a republic has been known as Dun Laoghaire.  It is on Dublin Bay, just south of Dublin City, and it has always been a major port.  The mail boats came from Holyhead in the UK and in this era were steamships.  Today huge catamarans go back and forth transporting people and cars across the Irish Sea.
