CLONGOWES WOOD COLLEGE – County Kildare, Ireland

clongowesA friend sent me this photo which was used on an invitation.  It is Clongowes Wood College near Clane, County Kildare, Ireland.  It’s the oldest private Jesuit secondary school in Ireland.  Clongowes is pronounced KLON-GOES.  The school is featured prominently in the James Joyce novel, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man.

    • Unfortunately, there was no photo credit or I would have put it in the post. It was used on an invitation sent to parents from the school, so perhaps someone at the school can refer you to the photographer….?
