SISTERS-IN-LAW 1918 Phillipsburg, Missouri

004x6This photo was taken in 1918 on the front porch of the John McMenus home (my great uncle).  Brother Elmer McMenus had come home to visit from Montana and the family got together.  These are the sisters in law, from left, Sade Bilderback McMenus, wife if Press McMenus; her mother Mrs. Bilderback; Inez McMenus Shank, Elmer’s sister; Margaret Moore McMenus, wife of John McMenus.

  1. I love this photo. Three of these women are ready to work all day long. Then there’s the fancy one ;).

    • I think Aunt Mag was dressed up because she was “hosting” all the visitors. The other three women probably came from farm or store work to her house to see the visitors!
