The first time I tried this, the electric oven was too hot and the brown sugar caught fire.  We had to air out the kitchen all morning!


Mix one teaspoon dry mustard powder with one half cup brown sugar.  Lay bacon strips across a wire rack which has a pan under it and sprinkle one teaspoon of the brown sugar mixture over each slice.  Bake in a 325 degree oven for 30 minutes.  Check to see if the bacon is browned and crispy.  If not, bake a few minutes longer.  This can be served with any breakfast or brunch meal, and the candied bacon can also be broken up and added to Christmas treats like popcorn balls.
