My mother took this photo in 1939 when she and my father and brother visited Missouri. Look at all those dark chickens in the foreground! That’s my father and brother on the left, then my step grandmother, Carrie Massey Shank, my grandfather, Joseph Eli Shank, and Carrie’s daughter Berniece Massey Rich and her husband, Lester Rich.
