001cThis is a photo of my grandmother’s younger brother, Lawrence Ferrier.  He looks to be about 15 or 16 years of age in this photo.  I don’t know much about him and his family.  He died at a young age, and his widow remarried.  They had two children, Eva Lee and Charles.  I remember visiting “Aunt Bertie,” the widow, after she remarried a man named Clarence Kirby.  And we saw Eva Lee and her family fairly often.  Charles and his family lived in the Newhall area for some years, then moved north.  No one bothered to explain all the relationships to me until many decades later, and then my mother helped me put the pieces together.  I wish I had taken more interest and asked more questions when I was young!  Anyway, it still amazes me how many of the Missouri relatives on all sides of the family ended up in California in the 1930’s and 1940’s.
