More From Sandycove, County Dublin, Ireland – 1998

scan0057This is a house at the beginning of the coast road that runs from Sandycove to Dun Laoghaire and beyond.  You turn from the main road toward the beach and Martello Tower (James Joyce Museum), and then you turn left here.  So it’s a road well traveled and a turn I make many, many times when I am staying in Sandycove.  My friend who grew up in Dalkey says that a very old woman lived here for many years, and when he needed a flower or two for any reason, he would quickly stop and pluck a few!  This photo was taken at the end of June/beginning of July, 1998, so the weather was warm(er) but as you can see, the sky was cloudy.

  2. If this house was red, I’d swear it was across the street from my grandmother.
