A Walk Around Sandycove – County Dublin, Ireland – 1998

003bAs you can see, it was a cloudy day and probably rained at some point a little later, but if you let that stop you in Ireland, you spend most of your time indoors. Sandycove is a little village located between Dun Laoghaire and Dalkey on the south coast of County Dublin.  It’s famous for its bathing area called the Forty Foot and the Martello Tower which is now the James Joyce Museum.  This is the main road which runs through the village of Glasthule and then into Dun Laoghaire.  I was out walking on this day, starting on the main road and going down to the cove and Forty Foot.  The photo above shows Buckley’s Auctioneers in the dark building and a private home on the left.  I turned right and followed the sign on the right that says Seafront and Dun Laoghaire Pier.
