COUSIN DON FERRIER in the 1940’s

scan0090aThis is my father’s first cousin on his mother’s side, Don Ferrier.  He was the son of Homer and Louise Ferrier.  Homer died young and Louise remarried, eventually ending up in the Baltimore area with all three of her children, Don, Hazel and Carolyn.  The message on the reverse of the photo was written by his mother, and it helps to date the photo to the late 1940’s when President Truman was in office.  It says, “Don was home for 10 days when he left ‘Harry’s’ little boat.  Then he went on to Boston.  This was taken the morning he left for Boston.”  The car parked on the street in the background is definitely a 1940’s car.
