J.F. McMenus and Family – About 1918 -1920

scan0117eThis image is from a small snapshot photo and shows my great uncle, John Francis McMenus and family:  wife Mag on the left, and Reba in the middle with sister Francie on the right.  They are standing outside their house in Phillipsburg, Missouri.  Something I had never noticed before are the girls standing at the right rear of the photo.  There seems to be an entire group of them, all in white dresses.  I am wondering if this was taken after a funeral as the adults are dressed in dark clothes and the younger girls in white, as was the custom at that time.  Uncle Johnny was affectionately know as “Daddy Boy” to his family.
