George Preston McMenus and Family – Odessa, Washington

scan0121bI have written previously about my great great uncle, George Preston McMenus, scene here on the left with some of his family at their family home in Odessa, Washington.  He had ten daughters and no surviving sons.  His first and only son died at birth.  He went on to have two daughters, but his wife died.  He then married Elizabeth Carr and they had eight more daughters.  This photo shows Press on the left, his wife Betty seated left and her mother seated right.   From left, that’s daughter Bessie holding Betty Lou, then daughter Cecil holding daughter Mickey, and finally daughter Georgia holding the first male grandchild, George Preston, age 3-1/2 months.   Georgia produced the first male descendant after all those females!
