FLUFFY HERB DROP BISCUITS

If you grow fresh herbs like I do, these biscuits are fun to make because you can change up the flavors.  The last time I made them, I used fresh chives only and they were really good!

FLUFFY HERB DROP B ISCUITS

2 cups flour

2 teaspoons baking bowder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon baking soda

3/4 cup buttermilk

1/3 cup canola oil

2 tablespoons minced fresh basil

2 teaspoons minced fresh rosemary

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.  In a large bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda.  In another bowl, whisk buttermilk, oil, basil and rosemary; stir into dry ingredients just until moistened.  Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto an ungreased baking sheet.  Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until light brown.  Serve warm.

  2. These sound great; sadly, our basil did not do well this year (too much rain), so I think I’ll try the chives. Thanks.

    • Just about any herb will work. I’ve made them at the holidays with sage.
