Main Street, Blackrock, County Dublin, Ireland

003This is a very early image of the main street in Blackrock, County Dublin, Ireland.  That’s the Ulster Bank on the left and Alex Findlater & Co. on the right.  Note the town clock and the double decker tram in the center of the street.  The buildings look Georgian.

  1. How do these old photos survive? I have pictures from the ’70’s that haven’t held up this well.

    • I know, it’s really frustrating, isn’t it? I have a lot of color photos from the 50’s that are really in bad shape. One of the reasons I am trying to get everything on this blog…just a very slow process!

      • That’s why I started blogging in the first place, to get my father’s scrapbook together.
