MISSOURI – 1950’s?

scan0228This was among my grandmother’s photographs.  She is standing on the right end, Dulcie Ferrier Marlin.  Next to her is her sister, Victoria Ferrier Newman, and then Vic’s husband, Ollie Newman.  After that, I cannot recognize any of the others, so it is not a Ferrier family gathering, and they don’t look like Marlins either–for one thing, the men are not tall enough.  The man standing on the left end wearing overalls and a hat looks a lot like my grandfather, Walter Elbert Marlin.  However, since this looks to be the 1950’s, and he died in 1953, and they were living in California by the late 1930’s, why is he dressed in farm attire?  My grandmother visited Missouri quite often, especially after my grandfather died, so the man on the left could be someone else with a physical similarity to my grandfather.  The hat is pulled low on his forehead, so it’s hard to see his face.  Before my mother went into the dementia stages of Parkinsons Disease, we sat and labeled lots of photographs, she telling me who the various people were in the images.  However, this is one we missed…or she could not recognize anyone either.
