Ruins of St. Begnet’s Church, Dalkey Island, County Dublin, Ireland

P1010672aI took this photo on a mostly clear day in October, 2013.   The ruins of St. Begnet’s church are in the middle of this image.  This past year, a dock has been built on Dalkey Island and you can now take a short boat trip from Coliemore Harbour over to the Island for exploration etc.  You could always take a boat over, but you just had to jump out of the boat when you got there previously!

  1. Great picture! What kind of camera did you get? I’ve been thinking about getting something.

    • The camera is a Panasonic LUMIX (it has a Leica lens). I bought it last May at Samy’s Camera here in L.A. when they put everything on sale for their annual Mother’s Day sale. I wanted something small but powerful and under a certain price. You can adjust the aperture etc yourself, or you can do what I call, Any Idiot can Point and Shoot. Great photos since I got it, especially daylight outdoor photos. There is probably a later model since I bought this one, or will be soon. Hope this helps.
