Old California Home & Buildings Circa 1900-1910

011bAs I mentioned a few days ago, my niece loaned my some old snapshot photos that belonged to her mother’s side of the family, The Wulff’s.  They lived in California around the turn of the 20th Century and the photos are very interesting to me due to the nature of the buildings and people.  The house above seems very big and I love the porch across the front.  The writing at the bottom is hard to decipher, but it could be Carlota or an abbreviated form of Carleton.  Since my niece knows nothing about this side of her family, we are just happy that she has the photos.  Below is some sort of warehouse or very large commercial building that appears to be built on rocks for foundation, which was a standard practice at the time.
