A few years ago I had dinner at the home of some friends and they served this drink. I liked it well enough but failed to get the recipe. Then I came across it just a few weeks ago. It’s very light and refreshing:
CUCUMBER-BASIL GIN AND TONIC
Gently crush 2 basil leaves, 3 cucumber slices and one lime wedge in a cocktail shaker. Fill shaker with ice cubes. Add 1/4 cup gin and cover and shake for 30 seconds. Strain into a highball glass filled with ice cubes. Top with tonic water. Garnish with a sprig of basil.
