This photo was taken at the end of 1937 when my oldest brother, Larry, was just a few months old. That’s my dad on the left, Ray Marlin, Larry Ray Marlin in the middle, and my mother, Anna Shank Marlin, on the right. I’ve looked at the photo hundreds of times over the years, it hangs in my house, but I never until just now noticed that she had on earrings here. There is a little shiny thing at her ear on the right. I wonder if she gave them up because Larry pulled on them? As I said a couple of weeks ago, by the time I came along, she wore jewelry, but never earrings. NOTE: Today is the 78th anniversary of the birth of my brother, Larry.
