Young Men Lebanon, Missouri About 1895

This is one of those photos that I have never seen anywhere else and only two of the young men in the photo are identified. Seated right end, Joseph Wesley (Jode) McMenus, and next to him seated, second from the right end is his brother Eli Preston (Press) McMenus. They were two of ten children born to Joseph and Rebecca Francis (Smith) McMenus. The first and last babies (boys) died at birth, and one daughter, Sarah, died at about 15 months. My grandmother, Inez McMenus (Shank) was the last surviving child, born in 1881. I have no idea who the other six men are; all the people who might have recognized them are long gone. However, I would suspect they are all from the Conway/Phillipsburg, Missouri area and that they went to the nearest photographer in Lebanon, Missouri to have it taken.
