I posted a single photo of Aunt Marge on the anniversary of her birth, but here is another shot taken at the same time with her (then) sister-in-law Flossie Shank. I love the 1930’s hairstyles! Marge came to California from Missouri at the same time her brother Press Shank arrived with his wife, Flossie. Press and Flossie later divorced, and I am not sure if she remarried and became Flossie Chambers or whether Chambers was her maiden name. My mother always referred to her as Flossie Chambers, and there was a Chambers family in the Phillipsburg neighborhood.

thanks for posting this picture. Flossie L. Chambers was born 1911 in Drynob, Mo and died 2008 in California. She is buried at Rose Hills in Whittier, Calf. She did marry again to Herman Poulson and they had one child. Flossie is my great aunt.

The finger wave hairstyle, what a classic. Another fab photo.

My mother was still doing finger waves when I was a little girl. She had clamps that held them in place when the hair was still wet.
