I won an office competition a few years ago with this recipe.  Use Granny Smith or other tart apples. I am going to list the recipe below as I got it from All Recipes Magazine. However, I did change it up a bit (see notes below).

1 – 8 oz brick cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 – 8 oz package toffee baking bits
1 tablespoon lime juice
1 tablespoon lemon juice
4 Granny Smith apples, cored and sliced

Beat together cream cheese, brown and white sugars, and vanilla in a bowl until smooth. Stir in toffee bits. Pour lime and lemon juices over sliced apple to prevent browning. Serve dip with apples on the side.

NOTES: I cut back on the sugar here by putting in only 1/4 cup brown sugar, and 4 oz toffee bits instead of 8 ounces. I also added some finely chopped toasted pecans, and stirred in one tablespoon lemon juice and one tablespoon lime juice into the dip in addition to using the juices on the apples.

  1. I think your adjustments to the recipe are spot on! Sounds fantastic.

    • Yes, I thought there was a little too much sugar so I cut it down!
